Incredibly rare Sports car that was far ahead of its time-a 1990 Mosler built Consulier GTP LX. The listing says 1980, car is a 1990-I had to list as 1980 as the site would not recognize the Mosler VIN. Created , designed and built by Warren Mosler and his US based company, the GTP was designed to be the fastest street legal car around a race track. In order to accomplish this, Mosler employed some of the automotive industries most talented folk-Indy and Formula car builder designer the chassis, advanced composite engineers formulated the monocoque composite chassis, an extremely lightweight powertrain utilized turbochargers, fuel injection and mid engine for perfect balance. Far lighter than contemporary Ferrari, Porsche, Corvette and Lamborghini designs, the Mosler Consulier was able to produce world beating performance from a small, efficient turbo 4 powerplant. This drivetrain was used to great result in Carroll Shelby's turbo era cars like the GLHS and CSX. In the GTP, its mid mounted, RWD, lightweight and with its superior lay out is an outstanding performer-with the added benefit of great fuel economy. I've seen 30+MPG on the highway! No kit car-this GTP was sold as a completed and fully US legal vehicle-titled as a Mosler.
